I got so caught up with school and debating libruls online, that I kinda forgot about my blog. I shouldn't have. I can say that I have learned much in the past year. Intense debate has helped me to hone my skills, learn more than I thought possible, and has really cemented my core political beliefs.

Make no mistake about it, we have a long row to hoe. While this country may be a center right nation, we are still in the battle of our lives. The progressives are sprinting as fast as they possibly can before the American people catch on.

The good news is that the American people are catching on. We still need to keep the pressure on our elected "representatives." I put that in quotes because I think they have stopped representing us long ago.

Anyway, sorry for my absence. I'm going to try and post regularly from here on out. I hope all of you are well, and keep up the good fight. Call your Senators and voice your opposition to this monstrosity of a health care bill.

You may notice that I have decreased the number of personal opinion posts. I have decided for the time being, to let men and women far smarter than I to speak. I am going to bring the words of the Founding Fathers to you, as well as brilliant Libertarians and Economists. I think we have come to a crucial point in our country. He is just about the last true Republican and Patriot in Congress. I now embark on a "Witch Hunt" to do my best to expose the treasonous tendencies of both parties. I truly believe that embracing freedom...true freedom, is the only way out of this "mobious strip" of bad policy.

You may think that I have gone off the deep end...I contend that it is our Politicians that have gone off the deep end. If you think my anger and fear is somehow misplaced, let me know. The New Old Deal

With this proposed trillion dollar deficit spending Obama is kicking around, one can't help but to be reminded of the New Deal. Granted...there are greatly differing views on this subject. Mine happen to be that FDR added to the depression by several years. Anyway, I did a little research on the subject and I thought you guys might like to check some of this info out for yourself. This is from the Cato Institute. There is so much information...i'm only going to give you what's pertinent. If you want more, I have provided the link on my blog.

New Deal programs were financed by tripling federal taxes from $1.6 billion in 1933 to $5.3 billion in 1940. Excise taxes, personal income taxes, inheritance taxes, corporate income taxes, holding company taxes and so-called "excess profits" taxes all went up.

The most important source of New Deal revenue were excise taxes levied on alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, matches, candy, chewing gum, margarine, fruit juice, soft drinks, cars, tires (including tires on wheelchairs), telephone calls, movie tickets, playing cards, electricity, radios -- these and many other everyday things were subject to New Deal excise taxes, which meant that the New Deal was substantially financed by the middle class and poor people. Yes, to hear FDR's "Fireside Chats," one had to pay FDR excise taxes for a radio and electricity! A Treasury Department report acknowledged that excise taxes "often fell disproportionately on the less affluent."

Until 1937, New Deal revenue from excise taxes exceeded the combined revenue from both personal income taxes and corporate income taxes. It wasn't until 1942, in the midst of World War II, that income taxes exceeded excise taxes for the first time under FDR. Consumers had less money to spend, and employers had less money for growth and jobs.

New Deal taxes were major job destroyers during the 1930s, prolonging unemployment that averaged 17%. Higher business taxes meant that employers had less money for growth and jobs. Social Security excise taxes on payrolls made it more expensive for employers to hire people, which discouraged hiring.

Other New Deal programs destroyed jobs, too. For example, the National Industrial Recovery Act (1933) cut back production and forced wages above market levels, making it more expensive for employers to hire people - blacks alone were estimated to have lost some 500,000 jobs because of the National Industrial Recovery Act. The Agricultural Adjustment Act (1933) cut back farm production and devastated black tenant farmers who needed work. The National Labor Relations Act (1935) gave unions monopoly bargaining power in workplaces and led to violent strikes and compulsory unionization of mass production industries. Unions secured above-market wages, triggering big layoffs and helping to usher in the depression of 1938.

Preamble

As Libertarians, we seek a world of liberty; a world in which all individuals are sovereign over their own lives and no one is forced to sacrifice his or her values for the benefit of others.

We believe that respect for individual rights is the essential precondition for a free and prosperous world, that force and fraud must be banished from human relationships, and that only through freedom can peace and prosperity be realized.

Consequently, we defend each person's right to engage in any activity that is peaceful and honest, and welcome the diversity that freedom brings. The world we seek to build is one where individuals are free to follow their own dreams in their own ways, without interference from government or any authoritarian power.

In the following pages we have set forth our basic principles and enumerated various policy stands derived from those principles.

These specific policies are not our goal, however. Our goal is nothing more nor less than a world set free in our lifetime, and it is to this end that we take these stands.

Statement of Principles
We, the members of the Libertarian Party, challenge the cult of the omnipotent state and defend the rights of the individual.

We hold that all individuals have the right to exercise sole dominion over their own lives, and have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of others to live in whatever manner they choose.

Governments throughout history have regularly operated on the opposite principle, that the State has the right to dispose of the lives of individuals and the fruits of their labor. Even within the United States, all political parties other than our own grant to government the right to regulate the lives of individuals and seize the fruits of their labor without their consent.

We, on the contrary, deny the right of any government to do these things, and hold that where governments exist, they must not violate the rights of any individual: namely, (1) the right to life -- accordingly we support the prohibition of the initiation of physical force against others; (2) the right to liberty of speech and action -- accordingly we oppose all attempts by government to abridge the freedom of speech and press, as well as government censorship in any form; and (3) the right to property -- accordingly we oppose all government interference with private property, such as confiscation, nationalization, and eminent domain, and support the prohibition of robbery, trespass, fraud, and misrepresentation.

Since governments, when instituted, must not violate individual rights, we oppose all interference by government in the areas of voluntary and contractual relations among individuals. People should not be forced to sacrifice their lives and property for the benefit of others. They should be left free by government to deal with one another as free traders; and the resultant economic system, the only one compatible with the protection of individual rights, is the free market.

1.0 Personal Liberty

Individuals should be free to make choices for themselves and to accept responsibility for the consequences of the choices they make. No individual, group, or government may initiate force against any other individual, group, or government. Our support of an individual's right to make choices in life does not mean that we necessarily approve or disapprove of those choices.

1.1 Expression and Communication

We support full freedom of expression and oppose government censorship, regulation or control of communications media and technology. We favor the freedom to engage in or abstain from any religious activities that do not violate the rights of others. We oppose government actions which either aid or attack any religion.

1.2 Personal Privacy

We support the protections provided by the Fourth Amendment to be secure in our persons, homes, and property. Only actions that infringe on the rights of others can properly be termed crimes. We favor the repeal of all laws creating "crimes" without victims, such as the use of drugs for medicinal or recreational purposes.

1.3 Personal Relationships

Sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the rights of individuals by government, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption, immigration or military service laws. Consenting adults should be free to choose their own sexual practices and personal relationships. Government does not have the authority to define, license or restrict personal relationships.

1.4 Abortion

Recognizing that abortion is a sensitive issue and that people can hold good-faith views on all sides, we believe that government should be kept out of the matter, leaving the question to each person for their conscientious consideration.

1.5 Crime and Justice

Government exists to protect the rights of every individual including life, liberty and property. Criminal laws should be limited to violation of the rights of others through force or fraud, or deliberate actions that place others involuntarily at significant risk of harm. Individuals retain the right to voluntarily assume risk of harm to themselves. We support restitution of the victim to the fullest degree possible at the expense of the criminal or the negligent wrongdoer. We oppose reduction of constitutional safeguards of the rights of the criminally accused. The rights of due process, a speedy trial, legal counsel, trial by jury, and the legal presumption of innocence until proven guilty, must not be denied. We assert the common-law right of juries to judge not only the facts but also the justice of the law.

1.6 Self-Defense

The only legitimate use of force is in defense of individual rights — life, liberty, and justly acquired property — against aggression. This right inheres in the individual, who may agree to be aided by any other individual or group. We affirm the right to keep and bear arms, and oppose the prosecution of individuals for exercising their rights of self-defense. We oppose all laws at any level of government requiring registration of, or restricting, the ownership, manufacture, or transfer or sale of firearms or ammunition.

2.0 Economic Liberty

A free and competitive market allocates resources in the most efficient manner. Each person has the right to offer goods and services to others on the free market. The only proper role of government in the economic realm is to protect property rights, adjudicate disputes, and provide a legal framework in which voluntary trade is protected. All efforts by government to redistribute wealth, or to control or manage trade, are improper in a free society.

2.1 Property and Contract

Property rights are entitled to the same protection as all other human rights. The owners of property have the full right to control, use, dispose of, or in any manner enjoy, their property without interference, until and unless the exercise of their control infringes the valid rights of others. We oppose all controls on wages, prices, rents, profits, production, and interest rates. We advocate the repeal of all laws banning or restricting the advertising of prices, products, or services. We oppose all violations of the right to private property, liberty of contract, and freedom of trade. The right to trade includes the right not to trade — for any reasons whatsoever. Where property, including land, has been taken from its rightful owners by the government or private action in violation of individual rights, we favor restitution to the rightful owners.

2.2 Environment

We support a clean and healthy environment and sensible use of our natural resources. Private landowners and conservation groups have a vested interest in maintaining natural resources. Pollution and misuse of resources cause damage to our ecosystem. Governments, unlike private businesses, are unaccountable for such damage done to our environment and have a terrible track record when it comes to environmental protection. Protecting the environment requires a clear definition and enforcement of individual rights in resources like land, water, air, and wildlife. Free markets and property rights stimulate the technological innovations and behavioral changes required to protect our environment and ecosystems. We realize that our planet's climate is constantly changing, but environmental advocates and social pressure are the most effective means of changing public behavior.

2.3 Energy and Resources

While energy is needed to fuel a modern society, government should not be subsidizing any particular form of energy. We oppose all government control of energy pricing, allocation, and production.

2.4 Government Finance and Spending

All persons are entitled to keep the fruits of their labor. We call for the repeal of the income tax, the abolishment of the Internal Revenue Service and all federal programs and services not required under the U.S. Constitution. We oppose any legal requirements forcing employers to serve as tax collectors. Government should not incur debt, which burdens future generations without their consent. We support the passage of a "Balanced Budget Amendment" to the U.S. Constitution, provided that the budget is balanced exclusively by cutting expenditures, and not by raising taxes.

2.5 Money and Financial Markets

We favor free-market banking, with unrestricted competition among banks and depository institutions of all types. Individuals engaged in voluntary exchange should be free to use as money any mutually agreeable commodity or item. We support a halt to inflationary monetary policies, the repeal of legal tender laws and compulsory governmental units of account.

2.6 Monopolies and Corporations

We defend the right of individuals to form corporations, cooperatives and other types of companies based on voluntary association. We seek to divest government of all functions that can be provided by non-governmental organizations or private individuals. We oppose government subsidies to business, labor, or any other special interest. Industries should be governed by free markets.

2.7 Labor Markets

We support repeal of all laws which impede the ability of any person to find employment. We oppose government-fostered forced retirement. We support the right of free persons to associate or not associate in labor unions, and an employer should have the right to recognize or refuse to recognize a union. We oppose government interference in bargaining, such as compulsory arbitration or imposing an obligation to bargain.

2.8 Education

Education, like any other service, is best provided by the free market, achieving greater quality and efficiency with more diversity of choice. Schools should be managed locally to achieve greater accountability and parental involvement. Recognizing that the education of children is inextricably linked to moral values, we would return authority to parents to determine the education of their children, without interference from government. In particular, parents should have control of and responsibility for all funds expended for their children's education.

2.9 Health Care

We favor restoring and reviving a free market health care system. We recognize the freedom of individuals to determine the level of health insurance they want, the level of health care they want, the care providers they want, the medicines and treatments they will use and all other aspects of their medical care, including end-of-life decisions.

2.10 Retirement and Income Security

Retirement planning is the responsibility of the individual, not the government. We favor replacing the current government-sponsored Social Security system with a private voluntary system. The proper source of help for the poor is the voluntary efforts of private groups and individuals.

3.0 Securing Liberty

The protection of individual rights is the only proper purpose of government. Government is constitutionally limited so as to prevent the infringement of individual rights by the government itself. The principle of non-initiation of force should guide the relationships between governments.

3.1 National Defense

We support the maintenance of a sufficient military to defend the United States against aggression. The United States should both abandon its attempts to act as policeman for the world and avoid entangling alliances. We oppose any form of compulsory national service.

3.2 Internal Security and Individual Rights

The defense of the country requires that we have adequate intelligence to detect and to counter threats to domestic security. This requirement must not take priority over maintaining the civil liberties of our citizens. The Bill of Rights provides no exceptions for a time of war. Intelligence agencies that legitimately seek to preserve the security of the nation must be subject to oversight and transparency. We oppose the government's use of secret classifications to keep from the public information that it should have, especially that which shows that the government has violated the law.

3.3 International Affairs

American foreign policy should seek an America at peace with the world and its defense against attack from abroad. We would end the current U.S. government policy of foreign intervention, including military and economic aid. We recognize the right of all people to resist tyranny and defend themselves and their rights. We condemn the use of force, and especially the use of terrorism, against the innocent, regardless of whether such acts are committed by governments or by political or revolutionary groups.

3.4 Free Trade and Migration

We support the removal of governmental impediments to free trade. Political freedom and escape from tyranny demand that individuals not be unreasonably constrained by government in the crossing of political boundaries. Economic freedom demands the unrestricted movement of human as well as financial capital across national borders. However, we support control over the entry into our country of foreign nationals who pose a threat to security, health or property.

3.5 Rights and Discrimination

We condemn bigotry as irrational and repugnant. Government should not deny or abridge any individual's rights based on sex, wealth, race, color, creed, age, national origin, personal habits, political preference or sexual orientation. Parents, or other guardians, have the right to raise their children according to their own standards and beliefs.

3.6 Representative Government

We support electoral systems that are more representative of the electorate at the federal, state and local levels. As private voluntary groups, political parties should be allowed to establish their own rules for nomination procedures, primaries and conventions. We call for an end to any tax-financed subsidies to candidates or parties and the repeal of all laws which restrict voluntary financing of election campaigns. We oppose laws that effectively exclude alternative candidates and parties, deny ballot access, gerrymander districts, or deny the voters their right to consider all legitimate alternatives.

3.7 Self-Determination

Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of individual liberty, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to agree to such new governance as to them shall seem most likely to protect their liberty.

4.0 Omissions

Our silence about any other particular government law, regulation, ordinance, directive, edict, control, regulatory agency, activity, or machination should not be construed to imply approval.

Wow!! What a day huh? I feel like we've been taken back to the steps of an Alabama school. To substantiate my title's claim, I am going to give you a few fun facts about Republicans and Democrats.

The KKK was founded by Tennessee Democrats in 1866. The KKK was meant to be the militant wing of the Democrat party.

Jim Crow (separate but equal) laws enacted from 1876 to 1965 were passed by Democrats.

Democrats took control of Congress in 1892, they then passed the "Repeal act" of 1894. An act which overturned Civil Rights legislation passed by Republicans.

It was the Republicans who started the NAACP in 1909. A measure taken to counter the racist practices of the Democrat party. Republicans also appointed the first black leader of the NAACP...James Weldon Johnson(R).

George Wallace(D) stood on the steps of an Alabama school in 1963 and said "Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever!!" He remained a Democrat until the day he died.

Senator Robert Byrd(D) is the only former KKK member in Congress.

If you ask what have the Republicans offered minorities in the last 20 years? They offer self-reliance, pride in one's work, true equality, freedom from the tyranny of welfare, and last but certainly not the least...FREEDOM.

Krugman wrote a column the other day about how state governments are cutting back spending, at at a time that we need them to keep spending, and even increase spending.

It’s true that the economy is currently shrinking. But that’s the result of a slump in private spending. It makes no sense to add to the problem by cutting public spending, too.

It's the same problem we see with private spending, spending by you and me. It makes sense that you're cutting back your spending, just in case the economy REALLY goes south. But the thing that just might send the economy REALLY south is all of us collectively cutting back our spending. Thus, the precaution leads to the very problem. Ironically, Bush's then-ridiculous advice last year to "spend money" was spot on. But how can you spend when you're afraid that your employer won't spend, but will instead cut back themselves and fire you? It's all one big prisoner's dilemma (or, tragedy of the commons).

[A] dilemma in which multiple individuals acting independently in their own self-interest can ultimately destroy a shared resource even where it is clear that it is not in anyone's long term interest for this to happen.
In other words, it makes sense for YOU personally to stop spending and save your money, but if we all do it, we're screwed. If we all spend, perhaps we're not screwed (and that's part of the problem - there is no guarantee that spending wildly will save any of incomes).

This idea that Government spending will help the economy out is patently absurd. If that were true, I contend that Eastern Europe would have been an economic juggernaught.

I have been to countries ravaged by socialism. It wasn't a pretty sight. They looked like they should have a "Comdemned" sign posted at the border!

It's a shame in this time of instant information, we dredge up archaic and failed theories. We have a blueprint for this situation already...we just refuse to use it.

Why don't we use our Liberals more wisely?

It has recently occurred to me, that we have a weapon of mass destruction in this country, that we ill use. Why don't we use Liberals more effectively?

Instead of sending valuable troops to destabilise a radical government...we could just send Liberals. Why...instead of sending Armor and Infantry, we could send CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, and ABC. We could also send Chris Dod, Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama!

They have already proven that they are adept at subverting and destroying a nations economy. Why send troops?!? I think they are a far cheaper and more effective means of destruction.

All it would cost is a few plane tickets. Let them set up shop, start raising taxes, giving out welfare, destroy their manufacturing capability (with green laws), and we would be set.

We should really look into this. I think it would take far less money and time than the older methods.

Of all the gifts I got for Christmas, not one of them was what I really wanted. All I really wanted was the Barack Obama coin set. You know...the coins with him and Washington, Kennedy, and other greats. I'm super bummed.

I can't believe I saw that on TV today. The man hasn't even done anything yet. He hasn't been Inaugurated for Pete's sake, and they have already minted coins for the man. I have a snippet of advice for the left...you might want to wait for him to actually do something, before you make him out to be one of the greats. He very well could be the second coming of Carter.

People talk about how good a speaker Obama is. I disagree. Watch a couple of the Reagan videos. Do you hear any of the characteristic Obama uh...uh...uh...uh's..? No! Reagan was an intelligent man that knew what he wanted to say. Obama is trying to figure out what he thinks the American people want to hear. That's not what we need. We need a leader. I really hope that we get Palin to run in 2012. I would love to be able to vote for a Reagan Conservative again.

I've been reading quite a bit of the Constitution lately. I'll read a part...and then sit and reflect on it. I Ask myself...what does this really mean? What do these words above mean?

It means different things to different people. To me, it means that the Government should provide basic services, and get out of our way. Some may say that is a simplistic interpretation. Well, sometimes that's the best way to interpret. The Constitution is our map to a stable country. Without it, we are doomed to to lose our identities as Americans.

I have heard Obama speak a great deal about giving us a new purpose recently. To be quite honest, that scares the living Hell out of me. I don't need a politician to give me a purpose. It is a shame that so many obviously do.

My purpose in this Country is spelled out in those fifty two glorious words above.

I urge you to watch the video above, and think about who you vote for next time. Most people agree with Ron Paul...yet no one votes for him. I will never again vote for someone that I don't like again. I voted for McCain. I'm not happy with myself. I'm either voting Paul or Palin next time around.

This is something I have known for quite some time. Conservatives are much more generous with their money than Liberals. It's no secret. Yes, the general perception of Conservatives in the media is that we are all scrooges. I would expect nothing less from the media. They have their agenda and we have ours.

Most prominent Conservatives are quiet about their charitable donations. In other words...they don't do it to make themselves look good. They do it because they care.

This is something Arthur C. Brooks found out when he wrote his book 'Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth about Compassionate Conservatism." He admits that before he started..."I was sure that Liberals gave more to charity."

He found that 91 percent of people, with some type of Religion in their lives, are likely to give to charity. While only 66 percent of people that are not Religious are prone to giving.

Brooks' next book "Gross National Happiness: Why Happiness Matters for America-and How We Can Get More of it." Found that people who consider themselves to be Conservatives were twice as likely to say they were "very happy." He did also find that Liberals were more likely to be happier as well. The Moderates were not as likely to be happy. I'm guessing that has something to with not really believing in anything. I think people can find happiness in a cause. Be it Religion, Welfare Reform, Global Warming, or electing a horrible President.

While these are only one mans findings...I tend to believe him. The proof is in the pudding. Joe Biden made millions under Bush, and only gave $3,600 to charity for the decade. Dick Cheney gave 7 million when he took over as VP. To be fair...i'm sure Cheney got some serious tax breaks with that donation. While Al Gore gave less than $400.00 that same year.

I'm a little too lazy to some more research. I think if you do some digging around on your own, you will find that the prominent Liberals, are only charitable with our money! Their heart somehow seems to stop bleeding the second their wallet comes out.

As I watched that video, I could barely contain my anger. I have listened to Rush for quite awhile. I have never heard him make a racist comment. When did the truth become racism? The fact is that the black race has been left behind. Illegal immigrants can travel thousands of miles (not speaking our language) and find work. Why can't American citizens? It's not because of racism. Racism is a crutch perpetrated by the race pimps to allow the black race an excuse to not succeed. Here are some stats provided by Public Policy Research. Please note that I did not write the following. This is taken from their website.

At present, over 70 means-tested aid programs provide cash, food, housing, medical care, social services, and training to lower income persons in the United States. Among the largest programs are Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, the Earned Income Tax Credit, Medicaid, Food Stamps, and child nutrition programs.

Total means-tested welfare expenditures by federal and state governments amounted to roughly $384 billion in 1998. Of that sum, $212 billion--55 percent--went to white recipients. Some $105 billion--28 percent--went to black recipients, and $69 billion--17 percent--went to Hispanic recipients.

Aid to black and Hispanic welfare recipients is greater in proportion to the size of their populations than is aid to white recipients. This can be seen by determining the average welfare expenditure per person for each ethnic group.

As a group, the 207 million white residents in the U.S. population receive $212 billion in benefits. As a group, then, they receive some $1,022 per person in welfare aid.

There are some 30 million Hispanic residents in the U.S., and Hispanics as a group receive $69 billion in welfare, or roughly $2,210 per person. As a group, the 33 million black residents in the U.S. receive $105 billion in welfare aid, or roughly $3,230 per person.

These figures represent the hypothetical amount each individual would receive if total welfare spending for each ethnic group were spread evenly among all members of that group. Consequently, the figures should not be interpreted to represent the aid actually received by persons on welfare--those numbers would be far higher.

In addition, the per-capita figures should not be interpreted to mean the typical black or Hispanic welfare recipient receives higher welfare benefits than the typical white recipient. In fact, welfare aid per recipient would tend to be similar across all three ethnic groups.

The per-capita welfare spending figures are higher for black recipients because the percentage of the total black population that receives welfare is greater than the percentage of the white population that receives welfare. The same is true for Hispanic recipients.

The higher rates of welfare receipt among blacks and Hispanics are largely the result of the erosion of marriage among those groups. In 1998, 69.1 percent of black children were born outside of wedlock. Among Hispanics the number was 41.6 percent, while among non-Hispanic whites the number was 21.9 percent.

To me these results are shocking and sad. Rush has not said anything that Bill Cosby and Juan Williams hasn't said. Are they racist too? It's time to take personal responsibility for your own actions. If you are not successful in this day and age...it's your own fault. If a black man can become president...then you can become whatever you want to be!

It's like they take whatever the common sense answer would be...and then do the complete opposite. Bush had a chance to affect some real change before he left office. What was wrong with an orderly bankruptcy? Without reorganization, we might as well burn the money.

The libs bitch about how much the Iraqi war is costing. That is nothing compared to the "bailout." We have already spent more than we have in every major war on the bailouts. Where is this going to end? I don't think an end is anywhere in sight. Obama is going to hand cash out like Richard Pryor in "Brewsters Millions."

I think I would literally kill to see some Blue Collar guys up there. Maybe some guys with balls! Give me a Contractor, Plumber, Electrician, or anyone else that has run a successful business. Why we elect morons that have no idea about commerce, I will never understand. This notion that nothing can fail, is going to cause all of us to fail.

Michelle Obama wants a salary as First Lady.

First we get The Office Of The President Elect. Something that has never been done before. Now, Michelle Obama thinks she should get a salary to be the First Lady. The hubris of these people. Where does it end? I thought Obama was supposed to be like Neo from the Matrix? Isn't he the one that is going to lead us out of this recession? How is nepotism and another couple hundred thousand dollar salary on the payroll going to help that? If this isn't a sign of things to come...then I don't know what is. The American people didn't elect Michelle Obama. Being the First Lady is an honor and a privelage. Wasn't she the one telling women that they should stay in their communities and volunteer, instead of going out into the workforce? What better way to lead by example than doing charity work as the First Lady. I think this shows their hypocracy, and blatant disregard for our American traditions. I can't wait until they exit the White House!

I finally signed up for school today. I have to say that they do not make it easy. The whole process was a massive pain in the ass. On top of that it's going to cost me almost $800.00 for six credit hours. Ridiculous! I sometimes read the liberal blogs. As I was scrolling through Americablog today, I found an article about Gay rights. There was an inordinate amount of whining about the their Civil Rights being infringed upon (Prop 8.) I find this quite humorous. I personally disagree with most Conservatives. Because i'm an extreme Libertarian, I believe in true freedom. As long as what you are doing doesn't hurt me or my property...knock yourself out. I have recently gone over the Constitution in great detail and, I can't find one part that says Gay people cannot marry. I really don't care if they do. They are people too, and have just as much a right to misery as the rest of us.

What I find interesting about their incessant whining, is the fact that they were totally on board with stripping the rights of others. They had no problem telling business owners that they could not allow smoking in their establishments. They were super ok with seatbelt laws, helmet laws, trans fat laws, gun laws, and i'm sure a bevy of others that escape me at the moment.

It's a slippery slope...taking the rights of others away. While you may not agree with ones lifestyle, that does not give you the ability to strip them of their rights. Maybe the next time California has another persons rights on the ballot, they might remember how it feels. Or...maybe they will keep stripping rights away. Only time will tell. Anyway, I may disagree with Prop 8...but I can't help thinking that you reap what you sow.

It seems to me (and many others) that the Republican party has lost its way. We have not been able to vote for a true Republican since Reagan. I'm left wondering how we got here. Where did this belief, that by becoming more like Democrats we would win races? We have Democrats for that! If we subscribe to that nonsense, then we will have a one party system. I have to give the Democrats some credit though. What a great way to eliminate your enemies. Republicans need to stick to what we are good at. We need to stick to fiscal responsibility, welfare reform and elimination, less Government, and just plain old common sense! Republicans used to stand for something. I would like us to get back to the Reagan era belief structure. The state of our country's affairs is sickening. We have the most liberal man in Congress soon to be running the White House. I don't know about you folks...but that scares the hell out of me.
